Because of Bucket seats, renovations, the capacities of stadiums worldwide have reduced. I remember Eden Gardens Calcutta used to have 90000 capacity. JLN delhi 75000 and Salt Lake Stadium, the biggest, accomodated 130000 people in 1997 for Derby clash. Due to safety concerns and people demanding more facilities, worldwide stadiums have been renovated in more facilities and less crowd. Hampden Park in Glasgow is one example. it once had crowd of 150000. Now it has been reduced to 50000.
