Today is the first death anniversary of Amal Dutta, one of India's finest coaches. A true innovator and an eternal non-conformist, he always remained true to his commitment to the game and did not shrink from calling a spade a spade for the betterment of the game in India. His fall out with the authorities was inevitable but it never dimmed his passion for football. As he said, "Other coaches can celebrate winning 500 trophies but if I can bring 500 more spectators to the stadium regularly, I will be happy." Rest in Peace, Sir! Today when Indian football is facing challenges on many fronts, the country sorely misses a personality like you.
