Thanks a lot to all of you for your concern and wishes. I really feel that IFN is an extended family to me.
Though all death is sad, it perhaps came as a sort of blessed relief to him. It was heartbreaking to see my father, a person who had been supremely active and zestful all his life, lying prostrate on the bed, not being able to speak, breathing through a tracheostomy tube, being fed by a Ryles tube these five months. At no time of my life did I find the lines of the poet Dylan Thomas ("Do not Go Gentle into the Good Night") who urges his dying father never to bow down to the inevitability of death--"Do not go gentle into that good night,/ Old age should burn and rave at close of day;/Rage, rage against the dying of the light"--so apposite to my state of mind.
But now that he has gone there, let him rest there. At Peace!
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Really sorry to hear this, Ramit Da. May the soul of your father rest in peace. Heart felt condolences and sympathies. May God give you and your family strength you need in this difficult hour.
3500-tonne gold mine estimated at Rs 12 lakh crore found in UP, five times bigger than India's reserve
As per the World Gold Council, India currently has 626 tonnes of gold reserves. The new reserves are almost five times that amount and estimated at Rs 12 lakh crore.
The UP government has stricken the gold, this time, in a literal sense.
I tried to compare Indian club with Rest of the Asian team, with them being a Mid-tier Asian Club.
Istiklol from Tajikistan. Who are currently still in Pre-Season form, their season starts from March or April last till November.
They defeated Lokomotiv Tashkent in their home in Asian Champions League but lost narrowly in dying minute to Al Ahli in the playoff. Which is a commendable effort for reckoning despite the League season is yet to start. Remember they posses 8 team League.
Ceres-Negros from the Philippines another team who are currently in Pre Season form and their league consist of 7 teams.
They defeated Shan United of Myanmar but their bigger feat came in the second round, defeating Port FC of Thailand in their home, losing to Tokyo in a playoff. Again a Commendable effort.
Al Ahed, reigning champions of Afc cup from Lebanon, league 12 consists of team league, has a similar schedule like ISL and I-league which start from September to April. Played knockout of Afc cup in their pre-season form and won the Afc cup last year.
This year their league is suspended for some reason since September. But they are currently leading the table in their Afc cup group.
Al Riffa from Bahrain defeated Chennai City fc without their first XI who were busy with U-23 Asian cup commitment.
Also Yesterday Maziya defeated Bengaluru fc.
Bengaluru fc is struggling to keep pace with Afc cup and league despite League is not complex like it is 12 team league or 20 leagues but a freakin 10 team closed league.
People complain about the schedule and more matches. But these team cannot cope with these scheduling so with far more matches these team will heavily fall.
Shows the sad affair of Indian Football. Some Club in their pre-season is able to lift Afc cup and some in between the season are struggling against their Neighbors.
Indians Football Clubs need more matches to be competitive at the Asian level.
It's is a Myth. It is pretty standard if we compare to other nation.
Let's recall what I said.
Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have 8 team League Structure. Way lesser In number than I-league and ISL.
Bahrain has 10 team League structure.
But Bahrain produces Quality footballer outclassing likes of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq to lift both Gulf Championship and West Asian Championship.
World cup regular Australia have 10 teams closed league structure.
Asian Champions Qatar have 12 team league structure.
Syria, UAE, and Oman have a 14 team league structure.
I named 7 nation, the Football club of these Nation and their National team can easily outclass Indian club and National team by a comprehensive margin. Some nation plays fewer games at club level than India still.
More matches at the highest level or solid foundations at the junior level are the main reason other has drastically improved at youth level to senior level transition has been pretty quick.
It is very frustrating to watch the same thing happening again and again. Same old result and similar dissapointment of not crossing the line.
Its all comes back to what I said "genetics" indian simply don't have the genes to play football, even if we have 40 club league and 300 games per season we will never succeed in football.
Former DU professor and sports commentator Novy Kapadia not able to avail pension, allege teachers
Eminent football writer and former Delhi University professor Novy Kapadia has been rendered bedridden and is not being able to avail pension benefits, according to a section of teachers.
Executive Council member Rajesh Jha on Saturday claimed that the university had meted out "shabby" treatment to Kapadia, who has served it for more than 40 years.
"In a sudden turn of events, he has been confined to a wheelchair and bed for life. Delhi University is sitting over a bunch files relating to pensionary benefits of superannuated teachers," Jha said.
Kapadia is one such victim of "apathy" and indifference, and has been denied regular pension since he retired almost two years ago, Jha alleged.
"His critical medical condition owing to autoimmune disorder has rendered him partially disabled and confined him to the four walls of the small rented apartment," Jha said.
The well-known sports commentator is currently surviving with the help of former students and a professional attendant, according to the executive council member, who demanded justice for Kapadia.
Other teachers took to social media to demand justice for Kapadia, who had served as the DU deputy proctor from 2003-2010 and held several other posts.
There was no immediate reaction available from the DU.
@sam It was a fake news. Media outlets could not figure out the difference between Gold ore and actual gold. Only 3 grams can be extracted out of a tonne of Ore. Those people calculated that tonne of ore as actual gold. From entire forest, maximum 150 kilos can be extracted - thats it. And even that will not be done as it is not commercially viable or estimation is too high. One Geologist is expecting maximum 35 kilos of Gold which can be extracted. And Media and Social media were celebrating thousands of tonnes of Gold !!!!
