Former La Masia player turns to a intern at a pharmacy during coronavirus
Toni Dovale, who used to be a player at La Masia, has run out of contract due to coronavirus and takes advantage of the break to do an internship as a pharmacist.
Toni Dovale grew up as a footballer in La Masia. From the 12 to 16 years old he was part of the youth team with Bojan as his teammate. He made his professional debut at Celta before his career at Huesca, Kansas (USA), Lugo, Leganés, Rayo Vallecano, Bengaluru (India), Nea Salamis (Cyprus), East Bengal (India) and Navy FC (Thailand).
He has been playing in Thailand until the end of 2019 and at the end of the Asian season he returned home for Christmas. He was waiting to play again in Asia and in negotiations with a couple of teams, but the coronavirus crisis has left him for now without contract. At 29 years old, Toni starts his new career as a pharmacist, as he is getting a degree at the University of San Jorge in Zaragoza.
Without football and waiting to find a team, Toni is now a pharmacist. He takes advantage of the break to do his internship at his mother's pharmacy.
“The goal of this internship is to live a real experience and to do them at the same time is a master's degree”, says Toni to Mundo Deportivo, equipped with mask and gloves because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In the morning he trains at home as much as he can, so as not to lose shape, and then spends the day behind the pharmacy counter.
“People come with symptoms, worried. We have to constantly disinfect everything, we work with gloves, we must work with extra care.”
