He did officially retire and has since gone into coaching with the U20 national team (guest stint) and maybe soon with LA Galaxy.

And his 3 caps for the US don't matter in 2014, he would still kick ass in the ISL. HIs problem was not that he was not good enough, he was just finished emotionally.
