THINGS AREN'T GREAT for Harmanjot Singh Khabra in his family life. But that hasn't stopped the East Bengal midfielder for from standing by his team.
He left for Goa to take part in the I-League campaign opener against Sporting Clube de Goa leaving behind his wife who had taken ill recently. And on the day of the match he received the news that his grandmother had passed away.
But Khabra was determined to play a part in the match. He was in the Red and Gold starting line-up and played for more than an hour. Later on he was replaced by C.S. Sabeeth.
But Khabra's stout professionalism has not escaped noticed as he drew praise from multiple East Bengal former players and officials for standing by his duty. Even coach Biswajit Bhattacharya praised the midfielder for refusing to be bogged down by personal tragedy and doing his job.
