In Africa, the culture or the system is that one should start his career abroad otherwise he will be stuck here and will not be noticed due to sheer competition. Raw unknown player can be still marketed abroad at some small club and if he shines there, he can move to better leagues.
Most of Africans in India are from lower divisions or Academy's of there country's. eg bellow razaq who we thought was random for so many years. but if u dig into his profile you will find he represented Nigeria at u-17 level.
What matters is their skills, not their obscurity.
Most of our club coaches are not so dumb to sign these players just because of their nationality. They have them for trials and analyse them.
Some people comment that ranti and odafa are shit random africans. But these people forget that they are one of the most prolific goalscorers in Indian football
Seeing the performance of Japanese and South Koreans in this edition - if not the top league I.e. J league or K league - we can definitely get players from 1st or 2nd division from these countries who will have much more speed/technique than random Nigerians. Even our NT defenders will improve in the process.
