Defensively Chennaiyin has been pathetic the entire season. This was bound to happen when you have 40 year olds like Riise Mendy manning your defence in most of the matches. Chennai has conceded the highest number of goals this season, 20 !!!! Other foreign signings couldnt step up as well. Guys like Eder, Blasi were disastrous signings, not even good to sit on bench. Then they nailed it by signing Dudu. It just shows how the team was entirely dependent on Elano and Mendoza . Looks like Materazzi's time in ISL is up.
The more this country mixes glamour with sports, the more we will see cut money, shady dealings, people with vested interest, scam etc etc. And the end result is we keep going backward,despite the fact that Sports is indeed seriously taken as a profession in this country these days( I mean we are far behind from the developed nations as a sporting country, but there is more awareness/more opportunity and more money in sports here, than what it was about a decade back).

But u have crooks across and hence u see guys like Sundar and all trying to switch allegiance from cricket to football, when exposed! However, their purpose is served as long as they are making money - whatever sports it maybe. Its a disgrace to say the least...
Mendy has been more consistent this season. Him and Sabia partnership had something to work on until MM's insistance on having Riise even Eder could have been tried more than the two starts he had.. MM is the reason why the team didnt qualify than the quality on the pitch.
CFC had to play high to get the best out of Raphael and Mulder but the lack of pace at the back and lack of a Anchorman meant they always played deeper than required.

Mass scale tinkering of formations and players per match took a toll on consistency.
DM position is very important to the way CFC played well last two seasons, If Blasi was playing we usually did well. If he wasnt fit why not have a backup for the critical position?
No proper wingers Jayesh is poor, Thoi wasnt played so not able to spread the game so what happened is they usually ended up narrow and allowed opposition to close out Rapheal and isolate Succi easily.
Jeje being injured also didnt help and him not playing the first quarter of the tournament meant we were always playing catchup on points in the table.
Poor tactically the whole season, Need changes all over the pitch next season.
Delhi are tearing apart Goa... 5-1 the score in the 60th minute ....Marcelinho with a hat-trick and Gadze with two...DD have easily looked the best team in the tournament, at least with their attacking flair...and Marcelinho the find of this tournament....was called the 'Greek Messi' when he played in Greece and although I can understand the hyperbole, the guy is really talented
That backline has to be the worst I have seen in ISL. All oldies playing. No wonder FC Goa is shit this season. Romeo and Mandar are not even playing as well.
