U-17 boys will get their chance when they reach 18 years of age or more for U-19. They are not exactly the world beaters at U-17, you expect them to win at U-19 ?? What will happen to actual U-19 players then? Plus it should be done in sequence to develop more and more players. Next U-17 batch should be prepared. What is the point in selecting/protecting one small group of U-17 players at every level-select them only at U-19 U-23 or senior team and ignore everyone else??? They are not champion stuff even at Asian level by any imagination. They played because we were the HOST. Our goal should be to develop as many players as possible at age group before they start their professional careers at I-league, ISL.
