The entire press is reporting that Marcos Paquetá has everything to be announced as new coach of Botafogo, but soon came the information that he has a proposal from India. But the deal seems to be a lot more complicated.
It has already been officially announced - with video, interview and montages - as the new Pune City coach to compete in the India Super League. It turns out that the competition was disputed from October and last year happened only between November and March. There is no definition yet for the 2018/2019 season.
Announced on June 1 by Pune City as a "very respected coach and winner," Paquetá gave an interview praising the club, founded in 2014 just to play the newly released tournament. The Indian Super League is a very rich tournament but is not officially recognized and does not give a place in continental competitions.
- From the conversations I had with the club, I realized that Pune City FC can give young players a great structure, a system in which I have been successful. There is a very great potential, we will seek to keep the main group of more experienced players as well as with some good talents from the League. I'm excited about this new experience in India with Pune City FC - Paquetá said in his official announcement.
It remains to be seen whether he would come with a short contract or would break the deal with Pune City - which should entail financial loss - to join Botafogo
