    Sorry but I don't think we need to glorified CWG medalist. The standard should be set high like at least finals in the Olympics. Many athletes who won medals in CWG will not stand any chance in Asian Games, Olympics and World Championship but with their CWG performance they take government Job and in future start blocking space for upcoming Athelete just because they perform well in CWG. 

    CWG is like garibo ka olympic and no one takes it seriously, see England removed Shooting from 2022 CWG just because they dont want to build the shooting range. 

    We need to value olympic performance more not just medal but over all performance

    The furore is on cutting prize money for those players who are employed by other departments. If any Haryana player work for Railways, Haryana govt is cutting prize money from amount which that player got from their employer. This is cheapness of highest order.

    While politicians get TRP mileage on twitter and with selfies with sporting heroes, cutting prize money now when time for award came.

    I agree that Olympics is bigger but how many medals do we win at olympics- 2 in 2016. Next time maybe 1  or even 0. We are a very poor nation in the Olympics. Most Olympic medalists were also Commonwealth games medalists in the past before winning medals in Olympics. If we had treated them this shabbily in the past by cutting prize money, they might not have been motivated enough for achieveing in later olympics.
     Take selfies and tweet for self-publicity,  Cut prize money and give stadiums to corporates-what direction is Indian sports going ??  Great job by players in boycotting the ceremony. They can give this prize money also to corporates.
