Aizwal went on to be be the Leicester City of Indian football & won the I-League 3 years back by playing with random Africans like Kingsley, Kamo Bayi, Alfred Jaryan and few more!
African players can acclimatize in India faster, plus they are habituated of playing in sub-par pitches and non-professional set up which European players aren't. They need better climate, better atmosphere, better set up to flourish. It is only natural that African players would be (generally) more successful in India than their more talented European counterparts.
But most of these African players are not professional players at their backyard and historically they have been coming to Kolkata, where they play in what is known as "khep" football in the nukkads of kolkata. They basically come to earn their living by playing in these kinda numerous tournaments. In Kolkata, there are specific areas where they put up in groups(huge numbers infact) and its actually good money for them. Kromah, for example even after he became a so called star playing for Bagan in I-League, could not afford to not play khep football whenever he got time - at times even at the cost of Bagan's practice schedule. And there are actually spotters/agents, who constantly watch these players & recommends their name to the Kolkata clubs - from middle rung to top teams. That is how they gradually make the cut to professional football in India and its not on merit in most cases( as in, unlike these bunch of Spaniards, these guys don't have proper football background/played for youth/reserve teams of big clubs).
Therefore this tag of "random" africans(not to be misinterpreted as racial) suits perfect for them, purely from the football PoV.
