I believe that the boys from RFYC Academy can make a big impact on our side if they are included....there a lot of talented guys like Razibul mistry, Rashid Cherukad, Chirag Bhujel, Sanan Mohammed etc there.
India U16 head coach Bibiano Fernandes - We will be among the top five teams in Asia soon
India have been drawn alongside Asian giants South Korea, Australia & Uzbekistan in the upcoming AFC U-16 Championship which is scheduled to happen between November 25 and December 12 in Bahrain.
Even though India are clubbed in a very tough group alongside the giants of the continent, the U-16 team's head coach is confident of his team giving a good account of themselves at the tournament.
During an Instagram Live chat with the Indian football team's official page, Fernandes revealed that he was not concerned about whom they would be drawn against.
“Before the draw, I had no expectations or any preference of opposition. I was relaxed. When I saw Australia, Korea Republic and Uzbekistan in our group, I thought of my team who have already given an account of them and done well in the qualifiers. I believe in my boys they can compete with any team at any level and will make us proud.”
“It has been difficult for us and all over the world but everyone is finding ways to work with the boys. I know some countries have already started training. What we started doing is we had online sessions with the boys thrice a week were we conducted strength , goalkeeping & ball mastering sessions. I know it is not enough but we are keeping in touch with the players. We also used to watch matches of other U16 teams and analyse their games.”
If we cannot play preparatory matches against international teams, the team will try to play quality opponents in Goa. The former SCG player suggested that the standard of youth teams in India is improving with every batch
and he is hopeful that in the next few years India will be among the top five teams in Asia.
“If we look at the matches we played the gap is not very big. Last time we lost by just one goal in the quarterfinal. It is just a matter of time before we will be among the top 5 teams in Asia.”
I know, it may farfetched at this time but I have stated it earlier(already) and will repeat it again I.e"I feel that this team can qualify for U-17 World Cup" with 2-3 players having the skills to move to EUROPE at around 19-20 years of age.
If we apply the same to get the best players fitness wise, then we need to scout more from
1) Sikkim border - Scout some Indian Gorkhas into U15 team... No wonder the best players in Indian team now is a Chetri & a Thapa ... (Techtro FC is doing that a bit already in UP)
2) CFA is there in Punjab & most of the fit Punjab boys go to hockey.... Its fine... Hosiarpur is there and anyway scouting there is taken care by CFA & Minerva
3) Haryana - Himanshu Jangra - Need to scout effectively in Haryana, to get more champion players like him.... He has played for a league club at such young age.. So many world class wrestlers, boxers , kabaddi champions emerge from there.. So if u scout here properly, the search for Centre backs & Centre-forwards for India will end
AIFF needs to prepare a list of places where they are going to come for scouting every year, come & scout every year without fail (does;t matter if u don't select ,but visit every year to that place). Put the list of physical requirements clearly so that those who can't won't attend & waste ur time (100 m in 20 sec , minimum height & all other requirements)... Some places I know (football hubs) , which needs to be scouted every year are
1) Eraviperunthurai , Kanyakumari (Fishing hamlets from which soosairaj, region, Jackson Das emerged), Tanjore, Vysarpadi Chennai
2) Lakshadweep islands
3) Kolhapur, Maharastra
4) WB, Mizoram & Goa scouting is pretty much taken care by the clubs there.... So get the players from those clubs
5) Not sure about kerala - whether the clubs ensure scouting fully with sevens football too there or else AIFF need to do it...
6) J&K - Kashmir is a hotbed of football talent
7) Hyderabad - old city ( u will get terrific raw talents , just like how u will get it in Iraq/iran..very talented .. No-one scouts there)
8) Sundergarh district - Odisha.. will get fast players.. hockey recruit there
9) Manipur hills - go for haokip, doungel etc who are natural goalscorer.. Manipur Plains (singhs, moraingthems etc) is fully scouted by CFA, Minerva, & all clubs
10) Nagaland - Warrior tribes.. isolated... problems with law & order.. try to scout or else go for Nagas in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Other areas)
11) Arunachal Pradesh - Go & try recruitment in the hills there.. Kishore Taid (former aiff ceo ) is there to help
12) Rajasthan ... Zinc football is doing something... but still am sure there will be some rajputs out there, who are physically fit.. Indian national cricket jr teams get most fast bowlers from there
13) Jharkhand - guess JFC is doing a great job there & hence just need to get players from them...
14) Delhi is a mix of all talents across the country (esp the best from Haryana, UP & Bihar).. need to scout extensively there.. hope sudeva fc will bring better talents....
15) Gujarat - unscouted.. AIFF need to scout here....
Am sure there will be many more centres where they can scout
Hope someone ask Isac Doru or Abhishek Yadav or Bibiano to prepare a list in every state & visit for scouting every year.. Even if they don't pick, its fine.. communicate properly & next year boys will be ready....
