Toal, Bulpin to continue: AIFF
NEW DELHI: While All India Football Federation (AIFF) has started its hunt for coach Bob Houghton's replacement, it isn't too keen to disrupt its youth development programmes and is backing its two foreign coaches - Collin Toal (national technical director) and Desmond Bulpin (U-23 coach).
Interestingly, it was Englishman Houghton who had recommended these coaches to AIFF so as to set up dedicated Indian youth teams after he took over the reins from Syed Nayeemuddin in June 2006.
"No, no they are not going. There is no question of them leaving their job," AIFF secretary Kushal Das told TOI on Tuesday when asked if Bob's resignation would have any impact on the other two foreign coaches.
Last week, Houghton resigned as India coach after being at the helm for almost five years.
During his reign as the senior team coach, the Englishman always stressed on the need for a supply line of young players. It was after Houghton's recommendations that both Toal and Bulpin were given the responsibility of the youth development.
After joining the Indian team in 2007, Toal has done a fine job in his role as a 'scout' and has been able to streamline the supply system.
Eventually, a lot of young players have come to the forefront and have represented the Indian youth teams. Besides, a large number of U-16, U-19 players have graduated to represent the U-23 team.
At the other end, Bulpin, who joined last year, has also done a decent job so far, highlighted by the U-23 squad making it to the second round of Olympic qualifiers last month.

I think it has more do with Olympic Qualifiers in June and this years I-League.
Indian Arrows in next season could be very expensive and difficult task.Alternate U-21 League is better. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
No I mean removing IA - even if we have 350 players...whats the harm to take the best 25 and give them the most competitive football India can provide..
