Also not happy with the defensive formation. I would have liked to see Samad and Asheer in place of Abhishek and Mehtab. Of course some of these players would be coming on at some point as subs and maybe that is the plan Alejandro has up his sleeve. Let's see
Wow! That's a very bold step, if EB looses today, Menendez must take the blame for not starting with Mirshad, Akhtar, Santos and Tondomba instead of Maiwa,Mehtab , Marcos and Didika.
East Bengal is playing almost a second string squad. No Colado, no Bidyashagar, no Samad, no Akhtar, no Borja, no Tondomba. Espada is crap, looks like a cut money signing by Menendez! Didika should now retire, like seriously! MB midfield have dominated so far.
MB has completely dominated the midfield, playing lovely short passes. Beitia is orchestrating the whole thing. It is of course expected that Bidyashagar and Colado will come in the second half, but failed to understand the coach's reason for holding them back so far, esp. when Ronaldo and Espada did not play enough matches to gell together. Mehtab Singh has looked very shaky

Ronaldo isn't yet ready for this, he needs to be groomed in slowly! Dumbfounded why Menendez fielded a second string squad. Crespi played a great match and so did Ambekar and Kamalpreet defensively. Tondomba needs to replace Dika in central midfield.

BTW never knew football can be played without running - the entire Bagan team looked dog-tired from the beginning of the match! And as usual many passes stitched together from the midfield orchestrated by Beitia(very slow), but like in Durand Cup,lacked finishing. No one seems to interested in taking a crack at the goal!
