Are Uga Okpara (East Bengal Defender) and Subhashish Roy Chowdhury (Dempo Goalkeeper) Joining Mohun Bagan ?

KOLKATA: Is East Bengal defender Uga Okpara set to change colours and switch allegiance to arch-rivals Mohun Bagan?

If a Mohun Bagan source is to be believed, the Nigerian defender has agreed to don the green and maroon jersey next season. Both clubs remain tight-lipped over the development, but it has been learnt that a senior Mohun Bagan official has already had a meeting with Okpara in a major pre-transfer 'coup' at a time when East Bengal are relying on the dependable player to reclaim the I-League crown.

Okpara's likely move to Mohun Bagan may be "news" to East Bengal officials, but with the Nigerian not travelling to Thailand with Trevor Morgan's side for Tuesday's AFC Cup match against Chonburi, eyebrows have been raised.

It's been learnt that Okpara's case may be forwarded to the UB Group, owners of both clubs, if Mohun Bagan are serious about taking him in their fold.

Dempo 'keeper Subhashish Roy Chowdhury, meanwhile, is likely to join Mohun Bagan next season.

uga okpara said he will stay at east bengal for another 2 yrs. The officials seemed to have increased his salary. I don't know if this is confirmed or not. But ABP's senior sports journalist Rupayan Bhattacharya tweeted this

Chetri on Bagan wishlist Mohun Bagan have reached an agreement with midfielder Snehashish Chakraborty and goalkeeper Shilton Paul that will bind them to the club for the next season, sources close to the club informed. It is also learnt that the green and maroons are expected to negotiate with strikers Edeh Chidi and Sunil Chetri, but an agreement is yet to be reached.
