Just wondering this is the same U19 Team that performed pathetically in U19 Asian championship..They are giving ILeague teams run for money..Are ILeague teams worse off than U19 teams of countries like Uzbekistan, Saudi etc..
@Deb_Ban: "Quess were the best thing that happened to EB in recent years."--That is true only for the first year. Bringing in a coach like Alejandro, recruiting players like Acosta and Enrique and trying to make a serious connect with the fans were indeed very creditable.
However, in the second year, they failed almost on all fronts. The foreign recruits were much poor compared to last season's and they could not keep some of the best Indian players like Joby Justin, Chullova and Ralte. The pre-season tour in Spain as conceived by Alejandro was rejected reportedly as a cost-cutting measure and the multiple lapses of the management like the recent case of players having to take the ground after travelling for 15 hours which was slammed by the coach himself today (https://www.goal.com/en-in/news/alejandro-menendez-slams-quess-east-bengal/4fojxr5uvahx10gvor6hyp7if) are a pointer that Quess has been as bad in this season as the cut-money legacy officials. All these decisions/actions were taken by Quess who have a 70% stake in the club and not the officials this time around. It is true that the Nitu and Co. had always tried to oust them (leopards never change their spots) but in this case it is Quess who were solely responsible for the club's failure.
As I said before, Quess leaves a mixed legacy at EB. If their contributions in the first season were a breath of fresh air in the Maidan, their performance this year shows that the century-old club remains mired in the doldrums, investor or no investor.
@jitug1979 not only I league but also ISL teams are worst then u18 teams of Saudi,Uzbeks, etc remember last year arrows threshed Kerala blasters in super cup but got same team threshed in u19 qualifiers. This shows how poor we are in football we should not get fooled by what Nita and per paid media portraits to as.
Indian Arrows have lost both the matches they played. They were Home games. They lost to top team and a bottom rung team. They lacked the urgency, professionalism and concentration to wriggle out a point.
Losing to a young inexperienced AFC in Goa heat is just terrible performance from Arrows. Thats giving AIFF and SAI a run for their money they have invested in these bunch of shits. Arrows should be disbanded at the end of season.
well for me arrows players are taking their teams existence and their place in team for granted.... their is no sense of urgency or will to learn and implement new things.. like how many times we gonna hear same thing "they did well considering they are inexperienced" , "lost by small margin", atleast they are getting game time" , "brave defending by arrows"?
It appears that these players have lost focus ... they are more into lavish lifestyle (at young age staying in hotels n all) and instagram rather than game
