All the Moroccan players playing in ISL are an edge above others. El Khayati, Hugo Bomous, Noah and Jahouh have been best for their respective teams. IMO ISL should scout more from this region.
North African countries like Morocco Tunisia Algeria have a huge expat population in European countries like France Belgium and to some extent in Spain Germany Netherlands.
Talented kids also move to Academies of those countries.
Just like success of teams like Croatia Switzerland Australia could be attributed to old Yugoslavia model Success of African countries is due to French Academies
Well as much as people hate Chennayin club. I don't think their signings are bad this season. El Khayati is the best player and settled in fantastically. He seems very motivated to play. But credits to Duker, he is the best utility player in the league. The guy has played attacking mid, to central mid to central def and consistently performs better always. Sliskovic is a target man and has scored goals in Durand and 5 goals in ISL. Not a worse signing IMO. Fallou & Vafa is also not a great signing but good for this season, I think this is where they could do better next time. But one more great attacker will def elevate this team. I am def seeing potential in this team.
Surprised to see the good quality of game played by Kerala. They looked technically and tactically really good against BFC.. Rahul KP and Sahal are playing very freely. I would love to see Ayush get some game time as well but Ivanovic does not experiment a lot.Javi from BFC is a good technical player but lacks a decent right foot and easily pushed off the ball sometimes. Surprised to see Roy Krishna struggling so much. BFC clearly made a mistake by letting Marco go
2 new ISL franchise planned for next year. One from Ahmedabad apparently not sure about another but there were plans for 2 new franchise
So we might have 13 team or 14 team ISL(including I-League promotion tema). Or 12 team one if existing clubs change base.
But format will remain same were teams will play each other twice. Also there will be break for Asian Cup and league will start a bit early and end before last week of March for IPL because they don't want to compete for viewership
