Is this in any way related to the news of the club looking to rope in a UK based company as investor? ;)

More important than playing a single friendly against a top club in Europe would be to bring in financial stability and a measure of professionalism in the club. That is the least that the supporters expect from the club as part of the centenary year celebrations.

This is just a showpiece event, nothing else. Very much in sync with our leaders' behaviours- at all levels of administration.

@thebeautifulgame Can you define "measure of professionalism" ? I am sick and tired of hearing it! Whats your problem if East Bengal plays ManU or Leicester City or Dhaka Abahoni as an exhibition match? There are no football industry professionals in India to run a club, just look at BFC, they pay people to attend matches, thats professionalism? #JSTFU

To counter Manchester City influence in India, Manchester United plans to buy controlling stake in East Bengal FC, Man U officials have already landed in Kolkata and started talks with Quess.
