  • Come on. Yes it is hard to see Sunil playing but let's be happy he is with big time players and in a professional facility. I mean Sunil is a striker... imagine in training Sunil scoring against Rui (Portugal #1 goalkeeper)!! In pre-season the B team train with the first team.

Is SCP genuinely thinking Sunil Chetri will be useful to them in wining games?...the B team will be playing in a lower league so does it mean chetri will start each and every game?..we do not know as yet what are the specifics of his deal..<br><br>If  Chetri  gets his fitnees up to Portuguese game standards, impresses the coach & plays regularly on the B team then great!..will open up avenues for indian football players in the Portuguese league and europe overall<br><br>But if he is just taken more for the marketing value and across the year is mostly warming up the bench , it would not help chetri much. it would have been better if he playe din I-league itself...AM keeping my fingers crossed, it about time positive things happened to indian footballers<br>

@aruncito i guess not with wim rejecting savio 40 man list<br>
  • I like Sunil, but to me I always thought of sunil as the supporting striker behind the main striker. He's a small guy but he is fast and knows how to finish. If Sporting can utilise him that way then he probably will start. He's more of a threat like that because he can sneak in behind defenders while they are focused on the main strikers and wingers. Even in the Indian set up, I would like to see him behind Jeje or even Manandeep who fit the description of the main strikers. <div>Anyways, I'm happy for him and hopefully this time he will be successful.</div><div>I hope scouts, especially from the mid-east and other top asian leagues have noticed the performances of our team and are willing to sign some of our youngsters.</div><div>Jeje and Manandeep have so much potential and  they need to be groomed in other countries. Same with Rome, Alwyn George, Didika, etc.</div>

Manandeep I doubt can play outside India..He has potential but not too much talent to be honest..he started all 5 games but could score only 1 goal..Dika and Alwyn are two players who can play abroad if they get the chance<br>

<br><div><br></div><div>Manandeep has potential. He is only 19. This is not Mohammed Rafi who scores 15 goals at the age of like 26 and 3 the next season. Manandeep is young and raw, that is what you should get when you look at his I-League and India U22 stats. He will be a threat at the international level soon.</div><div><br></div><div>Jeje should stay one more season at Pune and then move. He needs a full season after only playing 9 games last season.</div>
