Santhosh trophy is different. Mostly the same teams could be participating here.

@ArsenalFan700 ; Santosh trophy is different, National Games is different. This is Medal tally of the last time National Games were held to give an idea of which teams participate. Normally Services, Manipur, Kerala and Host State are the main medal winners in national games.

I still don't understand why services is part of the national games, where we have almost all our states taking part in it?

@Pondicherry Railways participate as separate entity in many National competitions but for National Games, they release their players so that they can go to their respective states and participate for them. Services have different rules -they do not release and instead they participate in National Games as well as Santosh Trophy. Railways play in Ranji Trophy, Santosh Trophy but not in National Games.
