    Congrats to indian team... Our youth team performance has been improving a lot in recent years which is great!!!

    Though it is a good thing that we crushed the rivals... it is just showing the demise of asian hockey except for india... the koreans, pakistani and malaysian teams are no more close to the top....

    @shankar
    We are top 6 in hockey, this is great progress because we were in rank 8-12 in last 4 years, how much more 'top' do you want them to go ?there are 80 countries in rankings we need to appreciate that

    I am not talking about indian teamm.. my point is about the rest of asian sides.. they have been performing horrible in international stage... this would result in lesser places for asian teams in WC and could haunt our chance of qualifier in future.. that is my concern.. our NT has been phenomenal so far

    South korea's fall has been surprising. They were always near the top but they are falling quite remarkably in recent times...

    FASTEST RISING TEAM IN ASIA

    In a shot in the arm for the Indian basketball fraternity, the senior Indian men's national team (fondly known as "Young Cagers") have done the nation proud by finishing 8th at the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship for Men. In doing so, the side, with an average age of just 24, established a series of individual and team milestones:

    • India's 8th Place finish is its best ever since 2003.
    • As a result of India's historic run to the knockout stages, the side has jumped 8 places in the World Rankings to 53rd position, just five places below Asian powerhouse Japan and Chinese Taipei.
    • Power Forward Amjyot Singh (20.9 ppg) finishes among the top five in scorers and his 4 double doubles was the 3rd best overall. Singh also ends among the top ten players in the Championship in rebounds (8.3 rpg), blocks (1.1 bpg), efficiency (+17.1) and freethrow percentage (73.1 FT%). He registers the highest individual score in the Championship, with his 32 points against Palestine in the 2nd round.
    • Guard Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (4.8 apg) finishes among the top five passers, and in the top ten in steals

    The likes of amritpal and amjyot play in japan development league.... and it satnam turns good for NBA .. we shall expect a decent team for asian level with reaching quarters becoming more usual than an achievement... fingers crossed..

    Hope they make it... also pinning on IMG-R to creating a basketball league as they have 30 yrs contract with basketball association if i am not wrong and they have done more good with grassroots so far

    Yes they have, the only problem we have now are the conflicts inside BFI
    Other than that we are steadily growing in basketball,might see wonders if we put effort and investment to it

    I don't think Basketball will be a winner any time soon due to lack of exposure. Not many watches NBA.
