The bottom line is that Government cannot interfere in Sports Bodies which are autonomous. This is not Rocket Science to understand. Different sports bodies and Olympic Associations of various countries have been banned due to interference by Government. Can you answer that why was Kuwait banned by FIFA ? How can Governemtn interfere on Chautala whose disproportianate assets case is not related to sports at all. Only IOC can say whether Chautala can be in IOA or not.
No stadium, whether Cricket, or any public stadium for athletics, hockey , football is built without tax payer subsidy. Massive subsidy is used even for this Wembley in Ahmedabad. Recently when Goa police was unable to provide security for one ISL match due to BRICS, Ambani made a phonecall to Modi and got police from Mumbai. So tax payer money is used - in every IPL style league in different sports. When Government used tax payer money to build stadiums, then only these different IPL style leagues owned by private party are able to organise sporting events.
Regarding Los Angeles Olympics 1984, please check out that who is the owner of the main venue Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum? State of California. so tax payer dollars are used. Only Aquatics Arena and velodrome had funding from Mcdonalds and 7 Eleven corporations who were not only big backers of Ronald Reagan, they got even more massive tax breaks then the money they spent on those two stadiums. government had to provide them free land also. It is just a fantasy that Private party is not using any tax payer money.

In my opinion I haven't seen anybody from the administrator's side who has made a positive impact on Indian tennis in a long time. There is no real continuing, proper experience or guidance and all the players just usually use other players to get feedback or information or help on the tour here and there. I think that is pretty sad and until that changes you are not going to see players being churned out because our system currently really lacks professionalism.'
Sad news for Indian Tennis. He was our best bet in Singles as far as Davis Cup is concerned. Without him, we cant think about World Group. With Leander, Bopanna, Bhupathi gone, I was looking at him for leadership. Next generation of Indian Tennis needs to step up now.
