So much NBA publicity means nothing if national team gets beaten so regularly. First Lebanon and now Syria. It looks like these players are drafted in NBA just for Indian audience TRP.

Syria has a sect of Christians called Syrian Christians with its centre at Damascus. India, especially in Kerala, they have a huge presence. John Abraham, Bollywood Actor, is also half Syrian Christian.

Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel,Palestine are all very multi-ethnic and religious countries. After First World War and dissolution of Ottoman Empire, many people from these countries settled in Americas. As per wiki, 7 million Brazilians can trace their origin to Syria, Lebanon  as they were collectively called Leventine lands.
