  • I really feel for Ali. Great coach, hopes he stays in India. From his facebook photos he looked to always hang out with the players. He created a bond and that was the only reason Chirag did remotely good. Now I really hope Chirag get relegated. They cant run a team.

    What makes Pakir Ali great coach? Just because he spends time in facebook, chatting with people, uploading photos!!!!
    Chirag has been a disaster but don't just say they can't handle a club, they have been instrumental in the rise of United SC for last 2 seasons.
    Too many conclusions without much basis....

    Where you a Chirag United supporter when they were in Kolkata. I dont get why you cant see how bad Chirag is. They came to Kerala, bought out Viva Kerala, renamed the club, failed to get Subrata who is now at Bagan, brought in Ali who did well and had good chemistry with the players, they had also just won there last match 3-1. Then they go and fire him with barely any time left.

    I dont need to be a Chirag supporter. What makes anyone think Pakir Ali is a good coach!!!! Give me a footballing reason to say so? Never seen a coach spending most of his time in social network sites when his team is biting dust. Its easy to say team is weak! Lots of coaches in I League work with weak squads, underprepared squads.

    Chirag is a total disaster, they also tried screwing up United Sc at the end, I agree, but I dont see why ppl want to say Pakir Ali was a great coach. Because he was having friendly atmosphere with the players!!!! The point tables decide things at the end
  • Still they had a chance of surviving, tough, but they did. And do you think the new coach will change anything? Pakir Ali is a good coach for a lower tier I-League team like Mumbai FC, Air India etc. I agree he cant coach Bengal and such.

    Here is a coach that interacts with there players... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://twitter.com/#!/peter_nowak"; onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://twitter.com/#!/peter_nowak</a><!-- m -->" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Major League Soccer coach of the Philly Union)

    Chirag has never been in good books...They are not good, agreed...but to say Pakir has been good is nonsense...Chirag Kerala has decent players and he should have been sacked earlier

    @Rudra

    I'm not going to say Packir is a great coach. But what we are frustrated at is the timing of sacking. In Packir's case he arrived too late into the Ileague. I meant he never got a chance for a preseason. He never got the players he wanted. It was management who did all the recrutments in the team. manager never got the players he wanted. Remember Alex Barbarosa and Matricciani two big fail signings.

    You are saying Chirag got a decent squad. Wait they havent even got a striker till Anil's late comeback from Dempo. Packir had to play a midfielder as main striker(Vineeth). I hope you remember the early goal drought of Chirg team. Then yes Chirag had a decent Defence and Midfield. I agree but they hit by hell lot of injuries. Ajayan havent started a match in last two months. Arindam missed almost 3 months of football. Noufal,Saleel , Anil , all first team players missed a big part of the season. still that man Packir stepped up and with his tactics he delivered the best out of the squad.

    Improved many young potentials. Ever heard of Usman Ashik. The improvement he has. remember Vineeth. CK of last season and the current Vineeth. Same are the case of Asif and Sherin. He turned that below par players to a brilliant team, some times results dont show you the exact things. I agree result matters. But the team was pretty unlucky at many cases.

    And to conclude team got a vital victory against Air India last week. Which could have turned as a break for Chirag team.
    As all the players are returning from injury. but not anymore.

    I'm still not saying Packir is a great coach. But its a matter of justice. I always hated the sacking theory. It was players at the fault. Not manager. The management should have gave him the players he wanted. Instead of sacking him for the sake of a player, who are not at all a great player, and get a full set of Kolkata officials.

    and about his social networking activities. Its all his private matters. Thats not doing team any harm. he's such a nice human being, I guess thats not a fault. :)

    He had his faults I agree. And table standings showing that. but what I am saying is he deserved something better than this.
