IMPHAL: The football team of Manipur's Oriental English School became the first girls' under-17 team to win the All India Subroto Cup Football Trophy recently. The team was felicitated by resident commissioner of Manipur Bhavan, Rakesh Ranjan in New Delhi on Friday.

SAARC countries are participating in Japan SAARC U-14 Football exchange program that Japan is hosting to support Disaster Affected Areas to be held from 7-20 October 2012. Nepal, India, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and two teams from Japan will take part in the event. The Indian camp is currently held in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, tournament sponsor Adidas also announced its initiative to adopt 10 talented players after the tournament as part of their Generation Adidas Program.
Amazing news. Generation Adidas has done amazing things here in the US and has uncovered many talents yet to be heard of. I hope this involves sending them abroad at a young age as well.

Two things i loved about the article is the chances that we could see more european flavour into the tournament in coming years which could mean our young upcoming players a word of good to play alongside some top european clubs future stars
and another is the news of generation adidas program starting with this tournament which makes the tournament more important for individual player as well along with the team performance too
i think now army guys should think of investing the money of durand cup too on this tournament which could see some hope of improving grass root development in Subroto cup
