They also have a guy who was a regular in South Africa's first division, as well as a former Uzbek internation who recently played in the Turkish 2nd Division, and also the best player in the Sudan Premier League.
Man... good for Thailand but I-League... we need to catch up.
Oh, by catch up I meant in the long-term... obviously right now it would be suicidal to get these guys... we can pay for them but we cant afford them as of this moment.
Massive news for Australian soccer. They can now move on from the current "marquee" Orlando Engeelar and perhaps bring in a guy like Rafael van der Vaart or perhaps get rid of Mifsud and bring in a City youngster on loan like Luca Scapuzzi. Possibilities are endless.
Ya, but what has happened from the tie up at both ends. Dempo sent a few youngsters over there and at one point Dempo were about to sign a couple Danish players from Vikings but that is really it (Pal excluded).
At least with the City tie-ups they are doing something. They have already played in New York at the stadium they will soon play their MLS team in as well as shoot a few commercials and hold major press conferences and, they have tied up with another major sports brand in the city, the New York Yankees who are the most recognizable name in American sports. With Melbourne, City have made a deal with the Melbourne Storm rugby team and will most likely re-brand the entire team.
When Dempo or another I-League club (Bengaluru FC/Juventus) can do that then call me.
