@EastBengalPride: I liked the way you said "Reported in Bengali Media. Hence needs verification"
Merger is still off by couple of years/season as per recent noises. But all depends upon the finances/expenses of this ISL season which is still not properly evaluated. Few owners might crumble or sell off their stakes by the end of this season but a lot will depend upon the finances as I said.
so we will see East Bengal FC Mohun Bagan de Kolkata FC Pune Shivajans FC Goa Mumbai City NorthEast united Kerala Blasters Chennyin FC Bengaluru FC Delhi Dynamos
There is need for relegation at National level especially when there is a huge difference between the way the first 2 divisions are conducted. If MLS and a-league can be run well with no relegation, then ISL can also do it.
it states that among atk owners only goenka's are going to withdraw interest from isl, rest atk will be merged with bagan, as bagam is currently struggling to get a sponsor. And dsk owner stated that if merger happens, they will be a partner of fc pune city, they will provide infrastructure and yputh academy and rest by fc pune city.
I just don't want EB and MB be given a walk in.. I wish ATK challenges them which will force these clubs to get professional and then no worries if ATK withdrews and MB and MB comes with professional setup where they are considered as a positive example in indian football..
Even Bayern munich was not part of first season bundesliga.... we definitely need kolkatta giants for their history but not with the present setup
not only history, supporter base = sponsorship this equation will force their inclusion. who will like to sponsor a non supported club? and mate the article also mentions that, they will tie up with big corporates. that corporates will not let them remain unprofessional. age old crooks of both the clubs will loose the monopoly they enjoyed all those years. This probably will be JV with better representation of the corporate management, because they will invest a huge amount. This will certainly have a positive aspect.
Mallya is a big corporate still these people remained useless in helping the club gain any glory... they might screen negatives from corporates and show the images of derby and get sponsor money
