nice points and you have covered almost all the points... but here are my 5 cents on your views ..
1. we cannot compare with Mexico playing in USA and India playing in USA ( San Jose/New Jersey).. a) Mexican Population (diaspora) is high in USA than South Asians b) For football, stadiums are ready available. So, Mexican federation can able to arrange friendlies... and we just need to rely on only one stadium in Florida and that too Indian population is very less in that area.. c) Building cricket stadium in New Jersey/San Jose... It would be good and I will be happy as I'm in Bay area.... But I feel , ICC needs to take initiative in that... d) Regarding filling stadium... People may not come to watch if matches are scheduled at odd timings regularly (considering TV viewership in India)... People may come for 1 or 2 matches.. But not more.. e) BCCI cannot make money playing in USA... Problem is time zone difference... Both gate receipt revenue and TRP ratings are not possible.... BCCI will definitely schedule matches by considering viewers in India.... Or else Money from TV rights and sponsorship's comparatively will be lower as TRP ratings will be lower if matches played according to US time zones ..May be Dubai will be best option....
I'm not pessimistic here. Even I want cricket to develop in USA and China... These are main markets...But it is not easy.. Steps need to taken by all ICC members..
Mexican football has it easier. Ya, we have the diaspora in common but what we don't have is facilities. Mexico uses some of the best stadiums in the US and those are American football stadiums created by American football NFL teams. All the Mexican Football Federation does is pay to use the stadium and that is it.
Here though, where will India or IPL teams play? There is no mega cricket stadium in the US and while they can fund a small one like the one in Florida, why would they do that? They also can't play in a baseball stadium. It just won't work fully cause of the financials.
I would rather see the IPL organize something in England. Cricket is honestly on the decline there and they are thinking of doing an IPL/BBL type league there so why not test and see how it goes by using the best league in the world for cricket? England has the facilities to make it happen unlike the US.
Or they can do Canada, which also has the facilities (Rogers Center for example can convert for cricket easily I bet)
BJP Politician and SpiceJet co-owner Ajay Singh becomes head of Boxing Federation of India. So this will end the impasse and suspension of Indian Association by World Body for so many years.
