Bloody these Britishers are taking us one step backwards. These long ball tactics are really poor.

  • Of course judge all British coaches because of these guys we have in I-League; Brilliant.

I know you mean that and that other users do but we all know that many other users on here just think that about all British coaches overall. Or English coaches to be specific. I mean I know we English are not the passing masters like Spanish coaches but if you watch say an EPL game with an English manager then you will not see the long-balls on I-League. Just a pure physical game, skillful football, and lots of direct running. That is the true English way of coaching.

comparing EPL and I League. I Don't want to live anymore :P

Also skillful is a vague word, anything can be a skill including diving when not fouled

Just to be facetious , when was the last time an English manager won the Premier League ? ....... Never.
The best coaches ( 1st team coaches not managers) are products of the Scottish FA , not English FA.
The likes of Steve Clarke, David Moyes etc.

But as @Rudra rightly pointed out, I was implying Old school long ball coaches.
It just amused me reading the article that this was coming from a coach who signed Friday & Ebi (hardly used in last 5 games) & is currently trialing & shopping for foreign strikers.
The U-19 striker Lalnunmawia that he loaned out to Dinthar FC in Mizoram was the top scorer in the Mizoram league.

He seems to be very good at deflecting media attention away from his out dated coaching & Goal.com are suckers at buying this .

I said "like SAY the EPL" and not the EPL specifically. Reading comprehension 101.

As for "skillful". I meant for it to be vague.
  • @gaffertape Lets get this straight. I never said that English coaches were the best. In my opinion they are far from it... even Harry is not so great but I want to get this stupid idea out of everyones head that all English coaches are long-balling old men when it really is the ones who coach in Asia who do that. Why? They are stuck in the past. The English FA has made it their goal to change all that by implementing new coaching corses which offer different lessons in different styles of the game to best suit them and the English game.

Chill buddy. Nobody has said all are bad. But atleast the I League coaches are terrible(except TJM).  I was shocked the other day when I saw Salgaocar play Air India. They were just bombarding it forward and expect some miracles. Salgaocar has regressed in my opinion. They were a team with wonderful one touch play and now look at their state.  Salgaocar need to get rid of Booth for next season or else he will destroy the team by selecting players who suit this rubbish style.

That I agree with. Booth is not good enough for I-League now. He, like most Brits in the South-Asian area, are long-ball only men. Salgaocar should go for someone with connections for players.
