<br><div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal;">Thank god, about time we got rid of Colm Toal , the last of the Houghton era dinosaurs... after Houhgton left & Bulpin left I though he would follow , & then stupid Lajong brought Bulpin back !</div><div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal;">Colm Toal managed to "impress" because we had no youth structure before & he brought some semblance of order to it, but his long ball tactics and rigid approach has ruined a lot of the good work done with IMG players....</div><div><b>Before all the Toal fans jump on board</b> , keep this old saying in mind..."in the land of the blind, the 1 eyed man is King ..."</div><div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-weight: normal;">so happy for Arthur if he takes this role, our Youth development has been lagging & about time we shook things up</div>
<br><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>He had fans but no one will say that he was a good coach. He will be more known for bringing the youth structure to somewhat order and for creating a good bond with players but other than that he did not bring much. </div>
The mentality of the Football fan can judged only by the fact that we are targeting 2022 Worldcup slot from Asia.A fan whether playing against Bhutan or Brazil always wants his team to win.<br><br>However the so called practical people have a slightly different opinion.<br><br>eg)When WIM selected his squad most of us knew that was our worst squad but at that also we underated ourselves saying we are not the coach and he is.The fact is that we are following our football from 6-7years whereas he just came.<br><br><br>Now regarding Nirmal Chhetri's trial first of all he hasn't made it to Europe yet.Whether he is good enough or not only time will tell but as things stand we are just assuming he is no good enough.<br><br>My question is If you are not good enough should you stop trying??????You never know, what might strike for you.He IS 21-22 and still has atleast 2-3 years to experiment and if everything works out perhaps he will have 5-6 years further an ideal time for a footballer.I dnt knw why we are feeling bad if he is trying to play in Europe lol.It totally depends on the requirement of the team and if they'll not feel he is worth it then they will not give him the contract.Whats the issue regarding it???<br><br><br>We are assuming he is not good enough,Similarily we assume India should be around 120-130 in terms of ranking or maybe less but whats the reality???<br><br>So quit assuming, just give ur opinions and wait till the actual thing happens.<br><br>
@Bad as u said normal/casual football fans of india after knowing that Nirmal is going for traials in europ whould say "WOW! GO NIRMAL GO! BEAT THE HELL OUT THOSE EUROPIAN ST's & WINGERS"
But 'so called practical people' have a slightly different opinion. they will talk about how much realistic chance he has to actualy play there or is he even good enough to be there.

Nirmal is going as "ball boy" guys. Why you guys are against it. As long as he is in "foreign" team everybody starts thumping their chests in pride. Does not matter what he does there. Lol. Get real. Most of us hv seen him for some years now. We all know the reality.
guys, this is a new trick that players like Nirmal Chettri are following , after the likes of Gouramangi, Subrata Pal etc.<div><br></div><div>Go for a trial abroad, get favorable reviews ( like Mehtab at Scottish club ) , increase your value to get more than what you would've got had your trial been successful !!</div><div><br></div><div>Foolish (very smart , u decide) Indian club officials then convince the club to sign the player for an inflated price & pocket a nice chunk of "cut money" in the process...</div><div><br></div><div>win-win for everyone except Indian football</div>

<br><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>but I do recall plenty of goals conceded because of his fault at club level</div>
The bottom line is guys that we all try to find faults rather then praise a particular person.<br><br>Just remember no player is complete.<br><br>Joyptan@Bad Where was bhaichung then? In the past 5-6 years?<br>He DIDN'T play throughout the tenure .He only really played till 2010 and during this period also Sunil was starting to play better then him.<br><br> <br>rudra<br><u>Subrata has been one of the most consistent players for Indian Football team.He made approximately 15-20 world class saves against the likes of South Korea and Australia(players playing playing in good European clubs) in the Asia cup.</u>He surely has got what it takes to PLAY IN EUROPE.I can't recall even 1 goal which INDIA has conceded because of his fault during the past 5-6 years.<br><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>but I do recall plenty of goals conceded because of his fault at club level.<br><br>Has he made more mistakes the Gomez(Famous PSV and Tottenham goalkeeper) <br><br>Our mentality justifies the conversation which actually took place :-<br><br>"Once an interviewer asked P.c Sarkar(Famous Magician of India) that where do you like to show your programme i.e in India or Abroad?"<br><br>He said,"abroad" because in India people always try to find faults and will ask you"idhar dikhao udhar dikao"in terms of hands and feet rather then enjoying the tricks which he showcased.<br><br>Now also most of you are trying to show case the same thing.<br><br>I can name hundreds of players who in my opinion dnt deserve to play in Leagues and Clubs they are playing in but does it change the scenario???<br><br>The fact that we are so negative about our own players is amusing for me. <br><br><br><br></div>
