Fine with five but lets have some rules..
3 foreigners clubs can chose anyone
besides these 3:
1 would be Icon player: Minimum 20 caps for country, country within top 50, has played world cup
1 would be : Minimum 10 caps for country, country within top 75

At any time only 4 foreigners allowed to play in a match.

cannot make such caps that the player must have 10 caps for the country. A player may have played in the past but what is his current fitness? is he coming out of his injury? Just becoz a 35 year old player represented his country 10 years back doesnt mean that he is better then a 20 year old foreigner who has never represented his country.
well they have the option of going with only 3 foreigners in that case..not necessary to have all 5 foreigners :-)..this will indirectly keep tab on the no of useless foreigners..
Others playing with 5 foreigners and that team playing with 3 foreigners will result in them being religated straighway.
This is a bullshit criteria. "Must have x caps for a national team ranked x". Rohan Ricketts would not even pass the criteria and he is obviously better than a guy like Densill Theobald who would pass the criteria.

The best way to deal with this is not through strong, socialist like restrictions but to have a sit-down with the clubs, tell them what we need and encourage them to sign better players. Remember that in the I-League we still have the clubs with money and the clubs with nothing at all so if we put in a criteria some of the clubs would be at a disadvantage.

Well partly you people are also correct. But why such restrictions are required if they really want to increase the foreigners, is to have some sort of icon of foreign footballers. Some way or other you will need to increase the popularity of I league as well as quality and having iconic foreigners will serve both..When Japan started their professional leaue, they did sign up such kind of players and that will always propel the league to new heights. Also we must admit, albeit the foreigners currently playing in India are not that good, still they are better than their Indian counterparts. More foreigners will indirectly improve Indian footballers- but there always has to be balance..
And think over some idea why it was said before saying bull***. The idea is nothing new and is implemented in all IPL style leagues(whichever sport concerned). This was just to extend it to a proper league instead of in a 1 month tournament which is anyways going to happen in football..
I am very skeptic about this Reading FC MoU. There have been so many MoU signed with so many clubs, nothing showing up. Also reading have agreed only in assisting in talent hunt. I dont know what good it would do
