I didn't even know Uzbekistan were in the central. How come they didn't participate in the SAFF? Maybe they're the Australia of the OFC and would have killed everyone?<div><br></div><div>Regardless, I am glad Afghanistan won. It has sparked some debate on what to do with the foundations of Indian football as its core. I can't tell you weather India, as a nation, will see this loss as negative or a positive because some "hard-core" fans will excite their revenge on the next SAFF. But what I can tell is that people are listening.</div><div><br></div><div>People are listening. Yes. More, now then ever, India is heading to turmoil after barely and I mean BARELY skimming to the final with 1+ goal wins. When you lose to teams like Mynamar, Tajikstan and such and you see their population size and compare to yours... maybe... we need to change the way we'd rather not want to see football but rather the way football is meant to be seen.</div><div><br></div><div>I can hear you, though. BUT INDIA LOVES CRICKET! Sure, it does. But football is a mainstay in many nation's hearts and if the USA can win 4th in the 1930 World Cup, why can't the world's ssecond largest country even qualify?</div><div><br></div><div>I think we know the answer, however. There are only 4 guarenteed spots in the berths and 3 of them, per usual, fall to Japan, South Korea, and Australia. So then we have 1 more spot with all of the rest of the AFC countries vying for it. Yes, more than 2 billion populated countries. It's a shame AFC doesn't get more spots because I've seen so much talent in Asian football.</div><div><br></div><div>I think the main problem here is that we need to investigate what exactly is going on with the root of it all: The AIFF. If we're not moving forward, we're moving backward and that's never going to stop until changes have been made that make us go "Oh, wow, AIFF is doing something right?"</div><div><br></div><div>2014 won't be interesting for India. Neither will be 2015. I guess we'll just keep ourselves occupied with the I-League and meagerly tilt our heads once in a while to see what the India NT is doing.</div><div><br></div><div>edit: I know, I say we despite me not being Indian but you get the picture. We as in the supporters of the India NT </div>
