i meant they were flirting with relagation ....

" In the <A title="2006–07 Fußball-Bundesliga" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006–07_Fußball-Bundesliga">2006–07 season, Dortmund unexpectedly faced serious relegation trouble for the first time in years. Dortmund went through three coaches and appointed Thomas Doll on 13 March 2007 after dropping to just one point above the relegation zone. Christoph Metzelder also left Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer."

after that season they never looked back and have become a force to recon with...unfortunately at present they are losing d battle aginst money power, their best players will probably leave.. their situation with regards to their best players leaving for money is similar to Arsenal.. they also follow a policy of developing local youth players and making them stars just like Arsenal

Ya, I feel sorry for Klopp. Excellent manager but losing his players now.

Dortmund luckily have an advantage over Arsenal in regards to youth development. It is much easier to develop young German stars than it is to develop English stars as the Germans are developed in a straight system from a young age. The English are brought up in two ways. One way (mainly long ball, kick and run) and then once they are around 16-17 they are forced into the Arsenal way but they have a tough time adjusting. That is why Arsenal and many other English teams buy and mainly produce other foreigners. This also affects the English negatively as these foreigners need to adjust to the English way and the physicality but they can't.

Also Dortmund got an array of talent in the Bundesliga just waiting to be picked up. Losing Robert Lewandowski? Then try these other top Bundesliga strikers like Stefan Kießling, Vedad Ibisevic, Ádam Szalai, Mame Biram Diouf. Or use your Champions League power to attract Premier League guys who would also be cheap options like Christen Benteke.

So ya, they will be fine. Sadly I do not see them making it this far again (unless they keep the core of there squad) but they will definitely be a force for many years to come.
