Chhangte Flies To Norway For Second Trial Stint At Viking FK
Delhi Dynamos FC winger Lallianzuala Chhangte is all set for a second trial at the Norwegian Club Viking FK as sources close to Talk Sports 24X7 can confirm. The 22 year old Mizo Indian national team player had a two days short stint in the same Norwegian club last season and got a positive nod out of it though he was somehow compelled to cut short his foreign stint last time due to his club fixtures.
Chhangte is all expected to reach Norway by 12th August and is scheduled to start his ten days long trial from the next day. The move was mediated by Krish Roy, Director, Business Development & International Relations, German Football Academy (GFA) in association with TSC Asia, New Delhi. In his last stint Chhangte grabbed a good eye from the Viking gaffer, Bjarne Berntsen who was hugely positive but the Viking FK coach wondered “Exciting. But the question is whether we need such a type of player now,” and it seems the time has come for Chhangte to make it into European realm as souces confirm that chances are all positive this time and if all is good we can expect Lalianzuala Chhangte to become the second and the probably the youngest Indian International to play in Europa League as Viking FK play in the top division league of Norway, which is famously called Eliteserien. The Stavengar-based club are eight-time league champions, with the latest title coming in 1991. The club, which got relegated at the end 2017 season, got a promotion in the top division in November last year.
As per the rules made by Government of India, any Foreign Spouse (in this case Mr Kromah) will be eligible for OCI (Overseas citizen of India) Card two years after marriage. So in August 2021, Kromah can apply for OCI status.
As OCI card is still a foreign citizen, he will need to wait fursther 5 more years to apply for indian citizenship. So in 2026, Kromah will be eligible for India citizenship.
