I have a question for all the members . How satisfied are you with your local language commentary in football. Also Do you find that sports channels are doing enough to provide better experience?

In Telugu we have cricket commentators doing it for every other sport , basically they make it unwatchable and they don’t even have any knowledge of the sport they are commentating about .

I'll tell my story. The World Cup qualifiers match was scheduled in SS3 which I had. Just a few hours before kickoff, I realized that it's in Malayalam in SS3 and I subscribed SS2 right at that moment. Eventhough regional language has helped to spread to a wider audience (just a little bit), the ones who used to watch in English can never bear with regional language commentary.

Since Noel Da Lima Letao passed away, honestly I have not liked any single commentator.

I actually love Malayalam commentary. It may not be as exhilarating as Spanish or Arabic commentary but it’s still very good compared to other Indian vernacular language commentaries in football.
Also, why not try hotstar on fire tv or android tv? I had disconnected my cable tv in favour of fire tv long back.

I never liked vernacular in my mother tongue. We had a spoof page / group in Orkut about commentary where we used to make fun of these -
"Ball goriye goriye parshorekha atikram kore gelo" (Ball rolls over the sideline)
"Dekho Manas" - "Balo Manas" - (See Manas , Tell me Manas) - Both commentators' name were Manas.
"Pen Orji, matro 18 bachar bayas, ki payer skill" (Pen Orji, only 18 years of age what skills he is having). Even Pen's grandfather felt happy knowing that age is a reducing phenomena.
"Robin Singh, onar hairstyle ti dekhbar mato" (Robin Singh's hairstyle is notice worthy) - Javed Habib felt happy that he was having good advertisement without paying a single penny to commentators !
Jokes apart they never had any balls to call out refereeing mistake or had any knowledge about offside let alone adding quality to the game.
Only good thing was Hariprasad Chattopadhaya the statistician who never disappointed us with stats.

Lol Penn Orji was forced to retire at a tender age of 50(official age 28) playing in CFL.
