@preetam - no. of goals is not the ultimate criteria to judge a player. and for that matter not even assists. especially when the differences are like 4-5 goals
Its been the mindset of most of indians that however good a player may be, he can be given full credit only if he is hyped a lot by people.. sadly of the list only alwyn is the hyped kid..
Alwyn has been rubbish this season, a shadow of his former self. Westwood, Boithang, and Balwant deserve there rewards. Duffy as best foreigner is the funniest thing ever! All he does is tap ins and some simple passing. Cornell Glenn has actually been a massive player for Lajong this season while Sean Rooney and John Johnson have been class for Bengaluru FC. Also Kim Seng-Yong has also been a massive signing for Rangdajied United and is one of the reasons they remain in the I-League.
Anthony Wolfe and Shabana would also be in the list if they came earlier.
I have to agree with @arsenalfan700 that duffy dont deserve it. I have seen duffy this season a lot most of his goals are simple tap ins and he is not constant my nominees will be glan, wolfe, johnson and angas
Angus really fell down the charts though after the I-League resumed. Seeing most of the goals Pune conceded he could have done better on each and every one.
I;m happy with all the awards but Alwyn? Seems we are all in agreement here........ damn and duffy too but I haven't seen much of him as I would like but from what I see.. he scored easy goals..
Siam Hanghal had won the award as had John Johnson ...but as BFC didn't attend the FPAI awards due to having their own awards...the winners were changed by FPAI. They couldn't change Ashley Westwood's for obvious reasons... Pure sham by Renedy and co
