Salgaocar games vs. Banglore FC & Pune FC in question regarding to ineligible players fielded....
The games vs. BFC & PFC will be considered 3-0 losses

Pune to benefit as they drew that game ,,,,,,,

    2 more points for Pune
0 more for BFC , just 2 more goals added
Loss of 1 point for Salgaocar and -5 goals
  • Salgaocar to be docked points for fielding unregistered players in two matches

    really???

    good news for others

  • Pune FC lost 3 points  and 3 goals!!!

    check kolkatafootball.com for more details
  • sorry, it should be SALGAOKAR
  • The I-League fixtures on i-league.org shows Mumbai FC play East Bengal on December 23 and Febraury 18 and both away matches. So not only has AIFF goofed up on the home and away fixtures but also the dates as both teams just played each other.

Almost at the Half way stage of the I-League season...
    some interesting facts....

Despite the increase in # of foreigners this season from 3 to 4 , where all 4 can play  ..
    • Goals by Indians 45% : Foreigners 55%...top scorers are all foreigners as usual of course,,,,,
    • WINS : Home 22 ,Away 20, Draws 27 ( 32% , 29%, 39%)...very little home advantage..... distorted due to 2 Shillong teams , 4 Kolkata teams & 4 Goan teams , and 2 playing in Pune
    • 1-1 is the most popular score ( 21%) followed by 1-0's ( 16%) and 0-0's ( 12%)
    • Roughly 64% goals from Open play , 8% from Penalty Kicks and 28% from other set pieces )
Trying to work out the contribution of the "Under 23" players in this seasons I-League...
Can only rely on goal data, as Goal.com & I-league.org does not provide much else

Looking at the defensive end :
    Clean sheets :
    1. Mohd Sporting :  6 Clean sheets
    2. Pune FC & Sporting Club de Goa : 5 each
    3. Mohun Bagan : 4
    4. Salgaocar, BFC, East Bengal, Dempo, : 3 each
    5. Utd SC , SLFC , Churchill : 2 each
    6. Mumbai FC & RUFC : 1 each
Mohd. Sporting's 55% clean sheet ratio , shud be sufficient to avoid relegation this year

Salgaocar & Sporting Club de Goa's rely heavily on 1 individual to score their goals ( Duffy & Karpeh ) , the replacement for Gnakpa could prove the key in the title race in my opinion....

What about Mohammedan. 7 goals from Josimar... 2nd best has 1 goal.

    A good point that I overlooked :)

Despite not scoring , Tolgay has caused trouble to the opposition in games. Given the thin ice he is skating on now...expect him to start raising hai game a bit.
He was once the beat Asian signing in I league when teams struggled with this quota...
Now he's probably not even the top 5 even...
One would have Yusa, Minchol, Sean Rooney, Taisuke or Boimah Karpeh ahead of him on current form
