@Goalkeeper +1 mate! These are the type of foreigners I was waiting for IFN members to post! :) Guys who not only would increase the level of play on the pitch but would also increase the profile of the league.

However, I just have a question about two players here. Fabio and Nabil were just recently in the Chinese Super League. The CSL pays a lot of money for players so would Fabio and Nabil be willing to take pay-cuts to come to India? Brazilian/Moroccan clubs can easily persuade these guys to sign as it is there native countries but Indian clubs need to negotiate here.

Marcio would be an incredible signing but probably around Ulliams level.

If we focus on players like occasional natioal team player like kim for asian qota then it wil be realistic

Or former A-League/K League/J. League guys. Brendon Šantalab I heard was being looked at. He would be great in India but the problem is how we view these guys. I bet if he came people would expect goals every game as he is a striker despite that not being his game. He is a second-striker, almost like Sean Rooney.

He was linked with Pune fc at winter window this year but the deal did not happened (Pune FC official)

I wonder why? (sarcastic) He has been a regular for Western Syndey since that rumor and has done pretty well... however, whether that is good enough to earn a spot for next season with them is yet to be seen.

this thread is a bit of farce now...
You are only looking at one aspect of bringing a player to India, i.e the level he has played at etc. that alone doesn't mean he will be successful here.

Take one look at the kind of apartments / housing that is provided by majority of the clubs for foreign players and any player with a half decent pedigree would turn around and be on the next flight back.

Add to that the training facilities, the lack of dressing rooms , no club house , no meals before or after training ( not unless you count Armando's pork / chicken curry & pao / rice)

No proper transport provided for players , no kit men to wash playing or training kit......

so until clubs address this , you will only be dreaming of good players making the switch to all the clubs.... till then accept the random Nigerians who will share an Apartment with 2 other "brothers" and have 6 other "trialists" in their living room.

That is why with my guys at least I recommend them to Bengaluru FC or Pune FC where I hope at least these things you mentioned are provided. Again, if we can get guys like John Johnson, Carlos Hernandez etc we should be able to bag these guys.
