Not sure if this is just bad writing or bad journalism overall but India were not eliminated from the World Cup qualifiers after the Nepal match... that win allowed us to go into the next round of World Cup/Asian Cup qualifying and NOW, we are knocked out but not before.
It is just Bad Writing I think. He could have phrased that sentence in a much better way. He forgot to mention that it was AFC Qualification First Round Homa and Away tie with Nepal and India progressed to Second Round. India played Home tie at that time with Nepal.
Ya, exactly. There was no context. There should have been another sentence before that line about how that was not enough which would have been the context.

A top team is one consisting of a main striker are few who can join him in scoring sheets... other than giroud and sanchez nobody reached double digit... i fell bad for this guy giroud for the same fact that... the inability of other midfielders and attackers to score goals mean more is expected of him...
He displaced Podolski to take the spot.. if arsenal had 1 20 goal striker, which giroud was along with 3-4 players in 12+ goals range then they would have been in better position..
I feel you should target all the attacking setup rather than single player who is trying his best other than odd drought period..
Arsenal need only one guy in the same mould as giroud and they will be fine. Walcott has faded away and some one like moussa dembele( Fulham) will fit perfectly.
