Long strory short - You need to host the best matches in the best stadiums, Chennai Nehru stadium as the most Fifa eligibility qualified stadium in the country deserves to have WC matches played in the venue, Really shocked that Chennai has been overlooked again and again.

I think it might be with the fact that the India Vs Nepal Match was supposed to be played in Chennai but AIFF couldnt get an Audience with the CM leading to Grudges and that led to urgent Last min location of siliguri, Besides the Chess championship between Anand Vs Carlson during that time.

All People Know the politics Behind Nehru Stadium Chennai ..During last Friendly AIFF Prepared the Ground for Friendly but TN Government Spoiled it bcz AIFF Cant use the stadium as its was not Inaugurated by TN CM

Who is heading Tamil Nadu Football  Association???
TN is so strong in Cricket Administration, all IPL and glitz by Mr Srinivasan.
In Tennis, despite the backing of Mr Chidambaram, Chennai hardly host any Davis Cup game while Chennai is number 1 in country in Tennis support.
In Hockey, since Jyothikumaran departure, Chennai has fallen back. No international match, no HIL. They had one franchise of WSH though.

Yes, Am really pissed the way TFA functions, We have got one of the most promising teams in the country which is evident with the fact of two decent finishes in the Santosh trophy, Decent players from the state playing in the I-League, World Class stadium & Good organised structure of the CFA.

But Nil support financially and commercially from the state as well as Market forces. TFA lacks the drive to do anything despite the fact that Football is clearly one of the most followed sport in the state and the interest in Cricket especially CSK has dropped.

These little steps are and should be the beginning.
