It's time to trust Indian coaches.
Khalid Jamil is a committed coach, affordable & loyal . Plus, since he knows all the loopholes, he can handle it well & chances of running away from N.T job is very minimal.

SC for me is the best out of the lot. He's not new to Indian football system, knows the players, is aware about Indian babu's, salary is low and most importantly he knows how to get results with very little in hand.

Petar would have been ideal choice but for him it will take time to adjust to Indian system.

Habas too wouldn't be a bad choice but I doubt AIFF will appoint him.

Yep any defensive minded coach who can grind results against less physical sides in Asia will work with the current squad. The problem I can see is we won't or can't go too far. I think we reached the max ceiling under Stephen.

But if we are developing talent in parallel then we can hire a coach with any ideal system that suits our players. We are not doing that. At this point, I have no hopes either way we are doomed. Coaches cannot fix this mess there is a limit to what we can do with no talent.

Jamil, Constantine in AIFF’s final shortlist

Khalid Jamil, Stephen Constantine, and Stefan Tarkovic are shortlisted for India's men's football team head coach role, following a meeting by AIFF's technical committee.

Kolkata: Khalid Jamil and Stephen Constantine are in the final shortlist for the post of the head coach of the men’s national football team. Also in the list is former Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia head coach Stefan Tarkovic.

Khalid Jamil is one of the names in the final shortlist for the post of the head coach of the men’s national football team. (ISL)

The shortlist was finalised by the technical committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), which met virtually on Wednesday, in consultation with Subrata Paul, the national team director, and technical director Syed Sabir Pasha. Inputs from former coaches Bimal Ghosh and Armando Colaco, who are advisors to AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, were also sought.

The shortlist, pruned to 10 from a longlist of nearly 170 by Pasha and Paul before being narrowed further, will be given to the AIFF executive committee to choose Manolo Marquez’s replacement. Marquez and AIFF mutually agreed to part ways after India’s 0-1 defeat to Hong Kong on June 10.

“Steve Kean, who had coached Blackburn Rovers from 2010-12, and Harry Kewell had applied. But given the new head coach will get little time to settle down and keeping in mind the cost, we have decided to recommend these three,” said an official who attended the meeting. “The names are not in any order of preference,” the official said.

“But Khalid’s performance last season with Jamshedpur FC makes him a frontrunner,” said another AIFF official who is part of the screening process. “Constantine cannot be discounted either. It could be a toss-up between the two,” said the second official. Since nothing is official yet, neither official wanted to be named.

SC can also bring some order to the squad and functioning , which he has done many times with many teams.  Should be either him or KJ.

Lol.  We all wanted to get rid of Stephen Constantine in this forum in his second stint. Going back to old school football. Anyways i want results, I don't want any sugar coating when we loose like we played well, we made good passes, we played tiki taka and all that bull shit.
Now I want only focused on winning the game. I don't want to care about how much good we played. Do whatever tactics.

Strange how we desperately want SC back,  though we had all agreed his wins were against Lower opponents apart from Thailand, such is the case with Indian football now
