What actually happened with EB and is goin to happen with Bagan if speculations are to be believed is that Kolkata again(like in many other field)despite having the talent/intellect, b'cos of the work ethic and unprofessional work culture, have once again fallen flat!
When u sell off majority of your stake/resort to M&A, u lose your own identity, which is what has happened. EB has sold off 74% of its stake to the investor, therefore losing control/management is being taken over. Bagan also is walking on the same path. The only reason is both these institutions have not been able to keep pace with changing time(bulk of it is attributed to being unprofessional, infighting, dirty politics, myopic mindset); sponsors not coming in/showing interest is just the outcome of it and hence both the clubs are literally sold off!
This is in complete contrast to what has happened to a 5 year old club (BFC), which as a corporate club has got the process right/is transparent in functioning and hence getting in sponsors to pump in money to the business(read football) and also ensuring revenue generation/profitability for the unit(which might take a while though). Bottomline is atleast they have the right intent and not trying to fool people and doing the business of running a football team and eyeing revenue from it, unlike Bagan/EB, where the top guys have siphoned out money paid by sponsors and hence caught with their pants down!
When did i say i have issue with Quess? I said, u lose your identity if u sell off ur stake - especially for big brands. And history says that most brands have lost out in such M&A.
We all are aware of what has happened to Nokia, Kodak, Blackberry to name a few (and they were extremely powerful brands) and all b'cos of mismanagement/taking their position for granted. Do u use any of these brands? Am sure u dont!
Now just plot Bagan/EB in the same bracket - u would have the answer!

on one hand, you blame old east Bengal management and in the same paragraph you indirectly say bad about their current owners
on one hand you praise “corporate “ bfc & on other you judge quess based on few months
can you give some examples please

Jokes apart. What is MB benefit in merging themselves with ATK ? A club which is closing down is not going to bring anything to their table.
