MB contemplating sacking several players, both Indian and foreigners before the Super Cup. As a cost-saving measure, they have decided in bringing down the total number of players from 31 to 24. Yuta Kinowaki is sure to get the sack, Dicka, Kisseka, Kingsley and Omar might also follow suit. The likes of Sukhdev Singh, Amey Ranawade and Britto are likely to get the boot. The club is not looking to sign foreigners who are playing outside India at the moment, they want to sign foreigners (free players) who are presently playing in India.
Rotten decision by MB officials. First they made a team that was horribly skewed from the beginning. Sony Norde was signed as an election gimmick. It upset the balance of the team: both Omar and Sony play in the same position plus it did not allow the signing of a good defender leaving Kingsley in charge of the defence. The perennially unfit Yuta was signed without any provision of a backup. After these massive goof-ups and the I-league debacle, they have now decided to paper over these cracks by likely recruiting some sub-standard foreigners who will get an extended lifeline to continue their careers in India.
Shows that in spite of showboating--talks of sponsor, investor, professionalism--some things in the Maidan never really change
@thebeautifulgame The foreigners which they might sign will get rejected by ISL committee (which is a good thing because now they actually have to scout properly and sign good foreigners instead of keeping random africans)
