Jose Ramirez Barreto belongs to a category that will always be special to Mohun Bagan fans across the world. It has been more than seven years since he put on the Green and Maroon colors. But even now he does not want to miss any opportunity to be associated with Mohun Bagan. He expressed his desire to join Mohun Bagan coaching staff and learn as an intern under head coach and master tactician Kibu Vicuna.
Mohun Bagan management discussed the same with head coach Kibu Vicuna who agreed to this proposal. When contacted top management replied “Barreto is part of Mohun Bagan family and we help him to grow under the guidance of Kibu Vicuna. We wish him a fruitful session as intern at Mohun Bagan before he rejoins Reliance Academy in Mumbai”.
Jose Ramirez Barreto will have a short stint in the current role, starting next Monday at Mohun Bagan before he starts his journey for AFC A licence. He thanks Mohun Bagan management and Kibu Vicuna on giving him this opportunity and he is hopeful to learn a lot which will help him in the longer run.
I have nothing against the great man but the move seems more as a sop thrown to appease the fans rather than a well-thought out plan to solve the current crisis at MB
It's good that MB are playing a friendly against United SC. It's even better that the match is in Kalyani under floodlights. And the best part is that Dsports will telecast it live.
So in a way, this match is a trial for all five involved: MB, USC, Kalyani turf, floodlights and Dsports.
