For us it does not matter... unless we get boosted by like 20-30... honestly, the FIFA Rankings are the worst rankings ever made by man. Whoever thought that Afghanistan are actually better than India or that Colombia are the best team in South America or that United States is better than the Netherlands is an idiot.
@ArsenalFan700 Yes you are right. Countries such as Malaysia, Philippines and Tajikistan better than India in football (as per FIFA ranking) is a total outrage. I don't want to get too emotional but football fans all across India are in a state of huge shock. I think something needs to be done here for the sake of Indian football's reputation in Asia. After I-league gets over (including rest taken by Indian players in their hometown) they should start a two month training camp for National Senior team. Not in India but in top european footballing countries such as Spain, Germany or Italy.
If it means India spending millions of dollars to improve the skills of current India's national team then let it be so since India's reputation is at stake here.
Right now Youth development programme in India will take some time and we will see the result only after 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup. That doesn't mean India should wait and forget about upcoming friendly matches against India before 2016. At least India should jump places well above 100 in FIFA rankings.
There are more points when Teams play World Cup Qualifiers. India is better then Saint Lucia, Grenada, Virgin Islands but they get to play 6 world cup qualification games on home and away basis and thus get more points and are higher in rank. India for last two world cup get only 1 home and 1 away game.
