They hindsight got into a training ground agreement with SDAT. That loses them a lot of money despite the facility being good.
they should have got a tieup with a collage or school for training ground usage which is cheaper.
PS: Buying or building land for training ground is next to impossible and very costly in Chennai esp near the stadium.

It’s OK and normal to have a training centre outside the city ,say 1-1.5 hrs away from the stadium. It’s not just Chennai , land is costly every metro cities.

2nd div matches and I-League 2 is played in SSN grounds
Problem is both are outside the city and far away from stadium
Building players residency is one of important criterias for Chennaiyin FC next season probably we'll see them build one next season
Paying Hayatt is more expensive than paying SDAT
