NorthEast has been delivering great crowds in Indian football for years now and not much has come of it in terms of hype. Also the fact that tickets would be so cheap would probably make the revenue they get meaningless compared to their cash-cow ISL.
Lets face it, from the looks of it, the Federation Cup and I-League is doomed. Indian football is not exactly doomed but we are in a transition period in our structure.
@arsenalfan Obvio the rev is nothing compared to isl but if the organisers set the tickets reasonably ppl will come I think that hoffenheim match tickets were priced 100 or 200 and it got good crowd
As for hype they already talk about football so thats taken care off
I-League teams won't simply drop out. Only a few will. Bengaluru FC is pretty much set on the Indian Super League in the future, even their fans are demanding it now. Shillong Lajong and Dempo are pretty much set to drop down as they are in shared ownerships/partnerships with their Indian Super League teams.
The question will be with what you do with Bharat FC, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Pune. And can see Mumbai, Salgaocar, and Sporting Goa dropping out easily but not the other four without some weak fight.
Meanwhile, an alien spaceship has landed in Goa... not confirmed but suspected as the AIFF and Mumbai have not updated twitter for about 15 minutes and we are left in the 22nd minute.
