Australia had clear intention to abandon the Ociania group and join the AFC. Every time they fail in the playoffs between south americam or Asian team ( mostly to uruguay and Iran ) . After the huge victories against the minnows in OFC they couldnt really make it in the playoffs. Although 2006 WC qualification was an exemption .

Israel is in UEFA. Football confederation boundaries and geo-political boundaries need not to be same always.

Kazakhstan also in UEFA...but in IOC ( International Olympic Committee ) they will come under Asia, they participate in Asaian Games

Also it is AFC Asia Cup. AFC is in the name-so all members of AFC are there for the Cup.

FIFA World Cup may have Wales, North Ireland, Scotland because they are members of FIFA but for Olympic Games, they are not a country. They all participate as United Kingdom along with England.
