Na don't worry. Stanley Rozario is still there. Jose was just the coach for this tournament. I think Rozario was busy planning for the I-League 2nd Division
According to media reports, philip de rider can become the new coach of usfc. Stanley will resign in couple of days
No! That can't happen. USFC is really being serious about this but Stanley has only been around for not even a year. Wow. Anyway you guys had Philip De Rider. How is he as a coach.
Philippe 'Inde' De Ridder takes over as the new Coach of USFC. The announcement was made by USFC CEO Bhaichung Bhutia at a Press conference this afternoon. Also present was Coach De Ridder.
An "all-is-well" message for tourists was posted by a host of World Cuppers and national celebrities through an exhibition football match against Bhaichung Bhutia's club here today.
The match was organised by the Sikkim government that saw the high profile event as an opportunity to lure back tourists since the September 18 earthquake.
French World Cupper Christian Karembeu and Dutch player Regi Blinker were among the yesteryear's players who represented Superstar XI in the match against United Sikkim Football Club.
Former Indian players Alvito D'Cunha and Joe Paul Ancheri, Bollywood actor Rahul Bose and Rudolf Schenker, the founding member of heavy metal band Scorpions also played for the visiting team in the 70-minute match.
The crowd was treated to a goalfest as United Sikkim emerged winners 7-4.
Football legend Ruud Gullit from the Netherlands performed the coaching duties for the Superstar XI with Shyam Thapa as manager.
Adding to the glamour quotient was Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia.
"There were hard times for the people of Sikkim after the earthquake and the whole country was behind them. I am very happy to be here and I will spread the message that Sikkim is ready to welcome tourists again. Sikkim is heaven on earth with very friendly people," Neha said to the crowd during the interval.
Rahul, who played for some 15 minutes in the first half, thanked the audience for not "booing" him for his shabby performance.
"Thank you for attending this match and showing your pride for your homeland. I am sorry for playing bad football. I am basically a rugby player," he told the crowd during the interval.
Rahul said his NGO would hold an auction of sports items used by sportspersons in Mumbai on February 11 to raise money.
"Bhaichung is giving five jerseys for the auction and the amount raised will be used to develop an astro-turf field in Sikkim," he told the crowd.
Gullit said he and his team members were enjoying the trip to Sikkim and the friendly match. "We enjoyed a lot and hope to come back."
Commenting on the earthquake, Gullit said: "What happened was terrible for Sikkim but through such games like today's, we can also say that tourism has come back in Sikkim and the people need it".
Scorpions founding member Schenker also said the trip to the Himalayan state was memorable. "We will be back in Sikkim with all the band members," he said.
Schenker said the earthquake should not deter anybody from visiting the state and had a one-liner for tourists: "Come to Sikkim."
Sikkim sports minister N.K. Pradhan hopes the match served its purpose. "A clear and loud message has gone to the outside world that Sikkim is a safe destination for tourists."
Sources in the government said the amount raised by the match was not yet calculated by the event managers. "There were sponsors and tickets were priced between Rs 800 and Rs 2,000. We are yet to compile a figure of the proceeds that will go towards post-quake rebuilding," said an official.

And so the exodus of United Sikkim players begin...
First it was Johnny Monyengar, then it was that Irish player, then it was NS Manju, then it was Renedy Singh, and now it is Sushil Kumar Singh who is making the step up. This time to Shillong Lajong. What will this spell for United Sikkim's I-League hopes.
I knew something was wrong when during the USFC vs Celebrity XI game Kumar Singh was on the Celebrity XI team. I am going to call him the Samir Nasri of India. He has one good tournament with one good goal and all of a sudden he thinks he is top flight material again.
